What
is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis
is a deep state of calmness and relaxation. You are still
consciously aware of what is going on and being said. Also, you are
always in control of yourself, meaning your body and your beliefs.
Because
hypnosis works directly with your subconscious, (with your conscious mind as an active participant), results are seen much faster than through
traditional psychotherapies. While in a hypnosis session, your subconscious mind is suggestible to the
suggestions the hypnotherapist is giving thereby weakening the
subconscious limiting beliefs you wish to get rid of to replace with
your conscious wants and desires instead.
Hypnosis
is a natural state we all go into before we fall asleep, participating in
a creative endeavor, while
driving the same route, and also when
we are really stress. In this state we are easily suggestible to the
environment around us. If you are not in the right environment at
that time, it can become very overloading pretty quickly.
Hypnosis
can be characterized by:
~Increased
muscle relaxation
~Feelings
of well-being
~Increased
pain threshold
~Predominating
alpha and even theta brain waves
~Diminished
ability to want to vocalize
